Check-in

Check-in times at Yellowknife Airport (YZF) vary depending on the airline, so it's essential to confirm with your airline before arriving at the airport. YZF recommends checking in at least 2 hours prior to departure. Note that self-service check-in is not available. All passengers must carry valid photo identification, and international travellers need a valid passport. For more information on travel documentation, visit the Canada Border Services Agency and Department of Foreign Affairs websites.

Security Screening

The Canada Air Transportation Security Authority (CATSA) screens all passengers and their belongings before boarding. For a smooth screening process, check the CATSA website for guidance on prohibited items and liquid restrictions. Non-passengers entering restricted areas are also screened. For more information, visit CATSA's website or call their support line.

Baggage

Ensure a smooth airport experience by reviewing baggage policies. After arrival, collect checked baggage from one of the two carousels located on the terminal's main floor. If your baggage is lost or damaged, contact your airline directly. Baggage assistance is available for passengers requiring support, and oversized baggage should be directed to a special drop-off area.
